THE Daily Mirror picture editor who “changed the face of Fleet Street” has died aged 79.

Len Greener spent more than 30 years with the paper. He died suddenly after a long illness.

When he was appointed as picture editor in his 20s he was the youngest on any national newspaper.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Maureen, son Rob, daughter Sophie and three grandchildren.

Rob, also a picture editor, said: “He had a fantastic career, he loved every single minute of it.”

Devoted Arsenal fan Len, of Faversham in Kent, had Parkinson’s disease.

Award-winning mirror photographer Kent Gavin said: “He was a legend. He totally changed photojournalism in the UK.”
