A SCHEMING mum faked being a solicitor and fleeced the girlfriend of a convicted criminal with promises of an appeal to clear his name.

Nikayla Worley went to see Raymond Cumiskey three times in jail on “legal visits”, taking £4,700 in fees from Lisa Leonard, Teesside crown court heard.

Cumiskey, of Thornaby, North Yorks, was jailed for 12 years in 2015 after being found guilty of four rapes and two sexual assaults.

Worley, 30, of Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham, admitted fraud and was jailed for nine months.

Judge Simon Bournearto­n QC told her: “What you did was wicked. She was in a desperate state.”
