Rhino horns trader jailed
AN ivory trader who had £2million worth of rhino horns, elephant tusks and hippo teeth at home has been jailed for 14 months.
The animal parts were found in the attic by police dogs during a raid in Watford, Herts.
Abbas Allawi, 52, was found guilty of trying to sell them on Instagram for £60,000 per kilo, Harrow crown court heard.
Peter Nugent, of the CPS, said: “He knew full well he was trading in what he described as ‘banned things’.”
