Video thrilled the Rugby League star

SMALL-SCREEN JOKER SCOTT IS AIMING TO BE ON-FIELD STAR

THE joker in England’s pack is looking to make a serious point against France tomorrow.

Hull FC prop Scott Taylor has entertained team-mates and fans alike with social media videos of the squad at the World Cup.

But on the field he has had to wait patiently for a chance from coach Wayne Bennett after sitting out the opening two matches against Australia and Lebanon.

Tomorrow Taylor, Kevin Brown, Mark Percival (above, left) and Mike Mcmeeken (above, right) get their first chances to impress – and the front-rower intends to make the most of it.

Taylor, who should come off the bench, said: “I enjoy doing the videos. I like to feel that as much as I can bring on the field, I can do it off the field as well.

“We’re all good mates and it’s a long tour. You’re away from family and friends and it can be mentally hard at times. But I know that, so I just try to have as much of a laugh off the field as possible and try to keep everyone’s spirits high. I was buzzing when I found out I’d be playing. It’s been a long three-and-ahalf weeks for me out here.

“We’ve got a tight group here, there’s more of a club feel to it with 24 top quality players. I would certainly not like to be the person picking 17 out of this 24 and I understand that.

“All I could do when I found out I wasn’t playing was do as much as I could to help the others be as good as they can be.

“I have been training as hard as I can and keeping my head down and trying to get an opportunity.

“I have got that chance now, so I will try to give it everything I’ve got and make sure I give Wayne a tough decision for the quarter-finals the week after.”
