- BY AMY-CLARE MARTIN

BRITAIN is being blasted by an Arctic chill that will today bring many of us our first snow this autumn.

The current cold snap is expected to last into December, forecasters say.

Weather Outlook’s Brian Gaze said: “It looks like an early winter. Computer models consistently point towards cold weather for much of the second half of November, with colder air displaced from the Arctic.”

Snow is expected on the Pennines today, with flurries possible in Wales, Scotland and even parts of southern England.

Further ahead, temperatures are set to fall well below zero. Accuweather’s Alan Reppert said: “There is better than usual potential for -15C temperatures on some of the coldest days this winter."
