Prince’s 2am trips to local bowling alley

- BY DAVID JARVIS

PRINCE loved to go 10-pin bowling in the early hours dressed in knee-high furry boots, a friend said.

The music legend regularly woke up friends for a 2am session at his local alley in Minneapolis.

His official photographer for 13 years Steve Parke said the singer had skill.

He said: “Prince would pretty much strike every time. Everyone would clap and go, ‘Woo’ and when I’d get a strike they’d cheer me and we’d all cheer for each other, it was really fun.”

Parke said Prince, who died last year aged 57, loved to play with Larry Graham, 71, bass player for Sly & the Family Stone.

He told maelstrom.com: “He didn’t wear traditional bowling shoes. He had on these furry boots that start at the knee and go down.”
