Burglary on funeral day

THIEVES raided a widow’s house while she was at her husband’s funeral.

They took three rings, earrings and two bracelets belonging to Sylvia Barlow, 68, bought by husband Peter, also 68, who had died from cancer.

Her son Andrew is sure they targeted the home in Woodthorpe, Sheffield, knowing the family would be laying Peter to rest.

He said: “How could anyone be so rotten as to do this on someone’s funeral day?”
