Shappi fired up for showdown with Johnson Snr

-

IRANIAN-BORN stand-up Shappi Khorsandi flew in to complete the I’m A Celebrity line-up – and is set for a rumble in the jungle with Stanley Johnson.

She had blasted his son, Foreign Secretary Boris, who wrongly said Nazanin Zaghari-ratcliffe had been training journalists in Iran.

The Brit was on holiday visiting her family and is now facing having her prison sentence in Iran extended. Shappi tweeted: “To some, Iran is a country where their mum and dad live so they go to visit. The ski and snowboarding is wonderful. How hard is that to understand Mr Johnson?

”Why ever did you talk such damaging b ***** ks? #Freenazanin.”

As Shappi, 44, landed Down Under – with Rebekah Vardy, wife of Leicester City star Jamie – she said: “What jungle?” in response to questions about appearing on the show.

She added: “Am I going to be telling jokes? Let’s wait and see. I am all good with creepy crawlies and not scared of anything.”

Rebekah 35, had been thought to be having a last-minute wobble about going on the show because she was worried about leaving her four children behind.

She also faces up to a month without seeing Jamie as he is unlikely to be able to head to Australia in the middle of the football season.

Rebekah and Shappi followed Stanley Johnson, Corrie actress Jennie Mcalpine, boxer Amir Khan, The Saturdays’ singer Vanessa White, Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo, soap actor Jamie Lomas, former footie hardman Dennis Wise and Youtube vlogger Jack Maynard Down Under for the stay in jungle near Brisbane.

The ITV show starts on Sunday. Several other famous faces are likely to join the celebrities midway through the run.
