Black Friday deals start 2 weeks early
SHOPS began their “Black Friday” sales yesterday – two weeks before the official start date.
Currys PC World jumped the gun with a raft of “Why Wait” offers, claiming reductions of up to 49%. Online electrical giant Ao.com said it had savings of up to 55%.
Most big brands are likely to announce price cuts from tomorrow, though Black Friday is not until November 24.
Britons will blow £10billion during the shopping bonanza – up 3.8% on last year – it is claimed.
Expert Eleanor Parr said: “Poor sales throughout the year will mean more retailers will feel the need to participate in Black Friday, in an attempt to stimulate demand.”
