14.11.2017 TW BRAGA beat Maiden City Colts 6-1 in the under-16 section of the NI Cup and then heaped praise on the opposition.

Braga’s well-known manager Paul Kirk said he was impressed by the coaching staff at City in their work with the boys on the pitch and also to their approach with them off the field.

Paul also praised his own team and particular­ly the three Newcastle boys – Forsythe, Kearney and Dornan – who travel to the matches together each week.

David Forsythe scored the first two goals with his left foot after the ball had been worked behind the defence. A good movement from left to right allowed Jay Mcknight to add the third before the break.

Maiden City showed their capabiliti­es from the start of the second half and were rewarded with a goal.

Shea Browne finished off a setpiece with a shot from the edge of the area.

Hassan Atari finished the game off with a hat-trick and the fifth goal left Kirk purring.

Braga knocked the ball around before a good finish from Atari.

Paul praised the progress made by Braga and is hopeful they will keep it going.
