I hope Moynihan slog will all be worth it in the end

-

GAVIN MOYNIHAN has been in contention for earning his card at Q-school.

I hope he gets over the line in tomorrow’s final round in Spain because it would be a huge feat.

It has been a gruelling schedule for Gavin and company teeing it up at Lumine Golf Club. Prior to playing six rounds of high pressure golf in Tarragone, Moynihan had two weeks in China and two in the Middle East.

To call it emotionally draining is an understatement. For those guys lucky enough to emerge this week, the demands of a wraparound season are only just beginning with the Hong Kong Open next week.

After that the main tour moves to Australia and then South Africa. You can be running on fumes but you have no other option but battle your way through a make or break period. The financial cost for players travelling around for smaller purses is also worth noting.

You can go through up to €20,000 in expenses during this six week stretch. Don’t get me wrong, the incentive is huge but it lurks at the end of a period of physical, emotional and financial strain.
