The painters and their personalities

-

THESE are just some of Kim’s bewildering array of personalities:

PATRICIA The dominant identity. She is 56 and has accepted she has dissociative identity disorder. She paints mainly landscapes which she considers “boring”. She is inspired by paintings by some of her other personalities.

JUDY A 15-year-old with an eating disorder who often appears at meal-times and is convinced she is fat. She paints mainly faces.

DAWN She believes she is still in 1997 and had her daughter Sky taken away by social services.

ABI A talented painter. Kim likes her ability to paint in proportion. She has used online dating sites to combat her loneliness.

BONNY The dominant personality before Patricia. She took the fight for Aimee through the courts. Her paintings are mainly robotic figures. She often gets sad because she doesn’t see Aimee enough.

RIA PRATT A disturbed 12 or 13-year-old girl who shows signs of possible abuse. Her paintings, done in striking bright colours, often feature the theme of abuse.

KEN A depressed 21-year-old gay man. SALOME A devout Catholic triggered by anything religious. SUZY: A personality who repeatedly paints a kneeling mother. KEY: Another painter who uses symbols and has an interest in mind control. KAREN Quiet, relaxed and enjoys painting.

MISSY: A child who has chosen not to speak. Paints only red, black and white.
