Gers boss: Show more courage

- BY GARY RALSTON

GRAEME MURTY wants Rangers to show the spirit of PSG as he called on the Ibrox board to end the uncertainty over the club’s managerial position.

The stand-in boss saw rivals Celtic hammered in the Champions League by the French aristocrats then admitted he would love to be in their shoes.

However, he all but admitted his time in the first team dugout is coming to an end as directors continue to plot for a successor to Pedro Caixinha.

The Light Blues have still to make their move for their new man and Murty will be in charge for the trip to Dundee tonight.

Rangers folded when they went a goal behind against Hamilton Accies last week, but it was the manner of PSG’S response to a first minute strike from Moussa Dembele in Wednesday night’s 7-1 romp he wants his players to emulate.

He said: “We conceded a really poor goal against Hamilton and everyone was deflated after that, it’s only natural.

“We need to be more resilient in our comeback. We need to have a bit of the PSG about us. They showed a fantastic response after going a goal down so early in the game.

“They trusted their players, they trusted their methods and they were open, expressive and brave.”

It is 30 days since Rangers axed Caixinha and with a double header against Aberdeen looming next week, either side of an agm, the pressure is mounting on the board to deliver their new manager.
