I’M MISTER UNBEATABLE

It’s been 391 days since Jesus lost a club game – and that means he’s fired up to break every City record.. even Aguero’s

GABRIEL JESUS has set his sights on beating Sergio Aguero as Manchester City’s record goalscorer.

Aguero, who eclipsed previous record-holder Eric Brook last month, has scored 179 goals in a City shirt.

Jesus has bagged 17 in his first 29 games for the Blues and says he is already targeting Aguero’s total.

“Sergio has broken an amazing record for City,” said the Brazil hitman. “I support him totally and I hope I can beat his record as soon as possible.”

As well as competing with Aguero to be City’s all-time top scorer, Jesus is vying with his fellow South American to lead the Blues attack.

Pep Guardiola claims he cannot start both while Benjamin Mendy is out injured because he needs to deploy Leroy Sane on the left to balance his attack.

Aguero started against Feyenoord in midweek after Jesus got the nod at

Leicester on Saturday, but the Samba star insists the pair have a good relationship.

“I get on very well with Sergio, he’s an amazing guy,” said Jesus. “All of us know what type of player he is and he’s also a fantastic person.

“I’m a big fan of his and it’s great to play alongside him. When you have a good relationship off the pitch, it’s easier to bring it onto it.

“We help each other and we both fight for the shirt.”

Jesus is City’s lucky talisman – he has clocked up an amazing 391 days since he last lost. That run stretches back to October 29 2016, when he was part of the Palmeiras side

beaten 1-0 by Santos, and spans 40 games for the Sao Paulo side, Brazil and City. Jesus has been on the winning side in 32 of those matches, but acknowledges that playing in great teams is no disadvantage.

“I’m very happy to have gone all that time without losing a game but it’s not only me,” he said. “It’s thanks to the teams and the team-mates I have played with at Palmeiras, the Brazilian national team, and now Manchester City.

“It’s good to reach that milestone of a whole year, but I must keep working hard in training sessions and performing well in games.”

Jesus claims he dreamed of winning the Premier League growing up as a poor kid in Sao Paulo’s tough Jardim Peri favela and will probably never have a better chance given that Guardiola’s unbeaten Blues are eight points clear at the top.

“It’s a dream I’ve always had, to be part of a team that wins the Premier League,” he said. “Probably 90 per cent of Brazilian players feel the same. We don’t talk too much about it – it’s just part of our background.

“I want to show this season that, despite coming from a humble environment, everyone can realise their dreams.”
