I WANT TO SAVE OUR MARRIAGE
Wayne was ‘silly and selfish’ But he’s brilliant dad to boys
COLEEN Rooney has blasted “silly and selfish” husband Wayne – but wants to rebuild her marriage.
Seen wearing her wedding ring for the first time since he was caught drunk in Laura Simpson’s car, Coleen, 31, admitted having a “s*** time”.
But she said: “Do I love Wayne? Yes. He is a brilliant dad and I want to try and continue our marriage.”
BRAVE Coleen Rooney is giving her marriage another chance after declaring her love for husband Wayne – and praising him as a brilliant dad.
Exactly 12 weeks after the former England captain was arrested for being drunk at the wheel of party girl Laura Simpson’s VW Beetle, his wife has made an emotional personal statement.
Six months pregnant Coleen said: “Do I love Wayne? Yes I do. If I didn’t, then I wouldn’t be trying to make it work.
“I’m not going to list his good qualities as a person as I don’t think he deserves it, but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad.”
In her Facebook post, she went on: “I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don’t want to live like that, I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that’s what I want to do.”
Coleen – who was seen wearing her wedding ring at a fashion lunch in Manchester yesterday afternoon – made it clear there is a long way to go before her relationship with her childhood sweetheart would be back on solid ground.
“I’m not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point,” she said. “I’m not the type of person to put a show on and say we’re all loved-up…. i’m just real.”
Wayne, 32, was arrested in September after a night out with pals while Coleen was in Majorca with sons, Kai, eight, Klay, four, and Kit, who is two in January. He was banned from the road for two years after admitting driving at three times the legal limit following the night out in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Coleen, 31, made it clear she does not approve of his boozy nights and it appears he may be grounded in the foreseeable future.
She added: “He’s made silly and selfish mistakes, some he’s learnt from, some obviously not. However maybe that will change?
“One thing I do know is that too much alcohol on a night out is dangerous and a lot of stupid mistakes are made and things are said under the influence.
“I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically.”
The ex-manchester United star, who was seen buying coffees in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, yesterday, also received a 100-hour community service order and has worked at a community garden centre.
Coleen, who is expecting their fourth child in February, flew back to the UK immediately after his arrest and, after a tearful confrontation, removed her wedding ring.
Since then, despite living at their £6.7million family home in Prestbury, Cheshire, she had not been seen with the £250,000 gold band.
But yesterday she said it was time to slip it on her finger once more and was spotted at The Julie Perry Events Ladies Fashion Lunch at Artisan Bar & Restaurant in Manchester’s Spinningfields.
In her statement, Coleen said: “Before all the stories begin, Yes, I have put my wedding ring on. A lot of people will be saying ‘you don’t have to explain yourself, don’t feel
