HAVERON FEELING THE HEAT

- BY ALEX MILLS

MANAGER Gary Haveron blasted his Glentoran flops following another Oval horror show.

The ailing Glens haven’t won at their East Belfast home since September 2 and on the evidence of this 2-0 defeat to Ards, that horrible run could go on for some time.

Goals from Michael Mclellan and Johnny Frazer earned the visitors three valuable points as they strive to inch away from the drop zone.

Although Robbie Mcdaid, Curtis Allen and Tiernan Mcnicholl were guilty of squandering giltedged chances, the Glens can have no complaints as they were out fought over the 90 minutes.

Little wonder the frustrated fans turned on Haveron and his team as they trooped off at the finish.

“I know the fans are not happy – I’m not happy,” said Haveron (above). “I care as much as they do, but we all have to stick together in tough times.

“We are working as hard as we can to get the very best out of the players.

“The bottom line is, the players in the dressing room have to take a certain amount of responsibility.”

Ryan Harpur bagged a sensational hat-trick and Kris Lowe was also on target as racked up an impressive 4-0 win over at Stangmore Park.

Darren Murray grabbed a late equaliser for

TOWN in their 1-1 draw with

Shane Mcginty shot the home team into the lead and the looked good for only their second win of the league campaign, until Murray struck.

“At least we show a battling spirit that I have to be happy about,” said United boss Gavin Dykes.
