can help out with the younger players who have come into the squad and the guys who have joined the club from junior football.

“There was a run of games yesterday when I wasn’t scoring but I was still happy with my performances and what I was giving to the team.

“This season we’ve been trying to be more compact and frustrating teams more with us only playing one up front but now players are returning from injury we’ve more options and are starting to score more.”

“We lost a number of our best players from last season so this time around was always going to take some time to adjust,” explained the forward.

“The management team brought in a number of new players but most of them came from the lower leagues and it was inevitable they would take a little time to gel together and settle in.

“Those players who were signed from the junior leagues have come on leaps and bounds from the start of the season and we’re hoping that progress will continue.

“It’s a big step up in pace and intensity at this level and whilst we all knew the ability was there, but now we’re halfway through the campaign you can see the difference – releasing the ball quicker.

“We knew this season we would all have to dig in deeper and fight harder in every match but we’re not far away.”
