Panto star Jake on turning to brother Nathan for advice
JAKE Carter has revealed his country singing sensation brother Nathan is the first person he goes to for advice about his career – despite their different music genres.
The 19-year-old said his older sibling was always on hand to offer support and encouragement and that the pair were lucky to have each other to confide in.
Jake, who now lives with Nathan in Co Fermanagh, is set to make his acting debut this week when he stars in The Spectacular Aladdin at the SSE Arena in Belfast.
And country star Nathan will be in the audience with the rest of the family to cheer him on.
Jake, who will take part in RTE’S Dancing With The Stars, said: “It’s great to be close to Nathan and ask him for advice.
“We both do different music now. Nathan is very much country whereas I’m more pop.
“My self-penned material is definitely more pop. Don’t get me wrong, I still love country music, it was always on in our house when we were growing up.
“But I was very much into pop acts like Mcfly, Busted and The Saturdays and I think that, subconsciously, that type of music influenced my own stuff.
“It’s great living in Fermanagh with Nathan. We never argue at all.
“The odd time maybe one of us might say something if I’m coming in after being out partying and he has to get up early or it’s him coming in late when I’ve to be up early, but it never develops into a row.”
