JOEY CARBERY insists his long-term future is at Leinster after completely dismissing speculatio­n linking him with a possible loan move to Ulster.

The out-half is still a couple of weeks off a playing return for Leinster and so misses this evening’s PRO14 clash between the provinces at the RDS.

But the suggestion he could move north to solve Les Kiss’ problems at No10, Christian Lealiifano is returning to Australia later this month, has been shot down by the young Ireland star.

Once fit, Carbery (above) will up against Johnny Sexton and in-form Ross Byrne for game time at out-half for the Blues and there’s also a wealth of options for Leo Cullen at full-back.

But the Auckland-born ace, 22, has no intention of leaving. Asked about the link, Carbery responded: “Well, it was two people talking in the media really, wasn’t it? It wasn’t anything important.

“I didn’t think much of it to be honest because the main people who really have proper opinions are the ones I listen to.

“I’m happy in Leinster, I always will be happy in Leinster and things aren’t that bad that I’m not starting or anything when I’m not injured. I haven’t paid too much attention to it.”

Byrne gets the nod at No10 today as Sexton, who captained the side to the narrow win over Connacht, is on the bench with the Champions Cup against Glasgow in eight days time in mind.
