Families in 452 rows every year

- BY HELEN Le CAPLAIN

THE average family rows like cat and dog, but always kisses and makes up...

Despite admitting to 452 bustups per year, we shower each other with affection – or 1,492 kisses to be precise. We also have 515 tearful fits, yet enjoy 972 bursts of laughter.

Family is the most important thing in life for 90% of us in a Uk-wide poll. A total of 62% called themselves a “very happy family”.

Two-thirds of parents said they could not cope without their partner, while 40% of those polled want more quality time together, nearly a fifth want to work less and just over half feel more cash would be the best change.

Other findings reveal we watch 489 hours of TV and wait 14 hours for the kettle to boil. We spend more than a week taking kids to clubs or parties and seven hours waiting for the bathroom.

But there is time for 1,435 hugs and saying “I love you” on 1,036 occasions, Virgin Money Life Insurance found. Its head Jayne Warner said: “These heart-warming findings show how much families depend on each other.”
