Cops mocked over ‘puddle splash’ probe
POLICE have come under fire for investigating a motorist who drenched a mum and two children by driving through a puddle.
The mother was pushing one child in a pram when the driver ploughed into the 20ft stretch of water.
It can bring a £5,000 fine if the motorist acted out of selfishness or impatience.
But locals in St Ives, Cambs, said: “Have police nothing better to do?”
Nina Freer said: “Murder? GBH? Burglary? Robbery? Rape? Oh no, we haven’t got time for that.”
Lisa Hawksford, 46, added: “Police should be focusing on burglaries, theft and assault.”
Police have no description of the car and said: “A PCSO wrote to residents more as a reminder to be considerate when driving.” Alexis Ohanian
