Pain pill ‘risk’ to tot speech
PREGNANT women who take paracetamol could risk slowing their baby’s ability to learn to talk – if they have a daughter.
Researchers found an “elevated rate” of language delays in 30-month-old girls, but not in boys.
A separate study has claimed it could also affect an unborn girl’s fertility.
Professor Shanna Swan, of Icahn School of Medicine, New York, said: “Our findings, if replicated, suggest pregnant women should limit use.”
