WHAT WE’RE ALL SAYING FIONA PARKER Hunt stable yet NHS still critical THE ISSUE

The worrying NHS crisis keeps growing and Jeremy Hunt isn’t going anywhere after the Prime Minister let him keep his job. Theresa May apologised for thousands of operations being cancelled, but you say it isn’t enough...

NOW we have a Tory minister of health with an extended title, whose only answer to the NHS crisis is to say sorry, and a PM so weak that her answer to the crisis is “nothing’s perfect”.

Maybe now is the time to ask the Leave campaigners “When are you going to deliver on your promise to give the NHS £350million a week?” Any additional funding is not going to happen with this hapless bunch.

I wince with anger when I hear Jeremy Hunt calling the crisis in the NHS a mid-winter one. It isn’t a seasonal one with the Tories. It’s perpetual with no end in sight after almost 10 years of this useless Government. Perhaps we should call JH A Man for All Seasons.

It is an absolute travesty what happened to vulnerable rape victim Bethany Shipsey who died on a hospital trolley in 2016 because A&E was too full. Another Jeremy Hunt casualty, she is just a statistic to the Tories now.

Her whole life ahead of her, taken away by sheer incompetence. By them I might add, not by our amazing NHS.

It says a good deal about May’s decision-making, firm control and lack of insight that she has allowed Hunt to remain in charge of the NHS. She has even expanded his remit to social care. He has no qualifications to justify the former and even less credibility to justify the latter. I cannot remember a more mistrusted, reviled and incompetent individual.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Tories are destroying the NHS and pushing it towards their aim of privatisation.

They always seem to find money for themselves, i.e. an 11% pay rise in one year, yet the public sector hard-working people are given 7% over seven years.

The people of this country need to ensure the Tory party pay for what they are doing because they too are paid from the public purse.

If they are imposing a 1% pay rise on public sector workers, they should also receive the same.

Jeremy Hunt hasn’t been removed as Health Secretary because he hasn’t yet completed his job – running the NHS down and privatising it. He hides behind his NHS badge and wants to go merrily on his way to finish the job he was hired to do. All the while, people queue on trolleys and some die. What’s it going to take for people to open their eyes to why this man is in this ministerial position?

Theresa May can apologise to patients for thousands of cancelled NHS operation until she’s blue in the face. It’s not good enough. The NHS crisis is caused by underfunding. If May can find the cash to convince the DUP into a coalition, she can find the cash to fund the NHS.
