England fans face fierce riot vans in Russia
RUSSIAN police will use a giant riot van called a “Schit” and an army of drones to control fans at the World Cup.
The Schit – which means shield in Russian – is made by weapons giant Kalashnikov and has water cannon and gas canisters to sort out troublemakers.
Russia’s National Guard has revealed that it will also use video drones.
The forces’s deputy director, Sergey Melikov, promised a tough stance on hooliganism, with “preventive measures directed at pre-empting, detecting and combating violations of the law by aggressive supporters”.
Three Lions fans going to the June to July tournament have been warned alcohol sales will also be severely limited.
