Fare to let taxi use bus lanes

COUNCILLORS voted in favour of cabs being allowed to use bus lanes.

Representatives at Belfast City Hall have agreed that “all taxis” be allowed to use the bus lanes and Belfast Rapid Transport lanes.

The move, however, is not final as a decision will not be made without a Stormont minister being in place.

Taxi boss William Mccausland welcomed the vote describing it as “hugely significant”.
