Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King

To fans of The Legend of Zelda, Blossom Tales is sure to look familiar. That’s because it’s heavily inspired by the classic 2D Zelda games, and it proudly wears its inspiration on its sleeve.

Playing as the newly-appointed knight Lily, you explore a small but detailed open world as you cut down various monsters and enemies with your trusty sword and shield. There are four dungeons to explore during your journey which supply you with additional gadgets, such as bombs, a crossbow, and a boomerang. There’s a great kicking soundtrack to boot, making your exploration of the world that little bit more enjoyable.

Neither its story, combat, or dungeon puzzles are particularly challenging or new, but Blossom Tales is great fun and will take you roughly 10 hours. It should tide eager Zelda fans over until A Link to the Past gets a port to the Nintendo Switch.
