Hero mum hands over surrogate baby No 6
SELFLESS Becky Harris gently kisses the sixth surrogate baby she has given birth to.
Hours later she waved goodbye to the 7lb 1oz girl and the tot’s two gay dads.
Becky said the men were “overcome with emotion” by the birth.
She added she shared “lots of cuddles” with the newborn but ensured she did not allow herself to bond with her. Becky, 30, said: “While she is biologically half mine, her dads are her parents, not me.”
She also gave birth for the couple in 2012, to a girl who is now five.
Becky thinks the businessmen are such good parents she told them last year she would like to be a surrogate for them again – this time as a “free gift”. Surrogate mums are not allowed to receive payment but can get expenses of up to £15,000.
Care home worker Becky, of Sudbury, Suffolk, declined to take a penny for the latest pregnancy. The mum said: “All of my surrogate babies are special, but this little one is unique as she was a gift from me to her two dads.”
Her first surrogacy was in 2010 for a couple who could not have children.
In 2016 she gave birth for Benita and Mark Cutter, from Hull, after hearing they had been conned out of their life savings by a fake surrogate.
As well as the kids she bore for others, Becky has a son of her own, Levi, seven.
