Girl age 11 set for Games

-

A SCHOOLGIRL aged 11 has secured a place at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Table tennis star Anna Hursey, from Swansea, will travel to the event on the Gold Coast in April.

She is said to be the youngest person to represent Wales in any sport at senior level, after playing in the European Championships last year, aged 10. Anna, who started table tennis age five, said: “I feel proud of myself, but I don’t feel that nervous. When I am there, I probably will be.

“I play about three hours a day after school. You get used to it.

“I have a really good mindset. You can’t give up when you are losing, or you won’t get better.” INSURERS are expected to shell out £31million to suppliers who won’t get paid after the collapse of construction giant Carillion.

Mark Shepherd, from the Association of British Insurers, said: “The demise of Carillion is a powerful reminder of how trade credit insurance can be a lifeline for businesses in these uncertain trading times. This insurance is an essential business tool that helps firms trade and expand in the UK and overseas.”

Carillion is the latest in a number of high profile collapses.

Other big names that failed include airline Monarch, wholesaler Palmer & Harvey and furniture chain Multiyork.
