WHAT WOULD YOUR KID DO?

-

KIDS say and do the funniest things – and now thanks to this new game show, their behaviour can win them prizes.

It may not be the freshest format, but who wouldn’t laugh at a child stuffing his face with a fistful of marshmallows when he thinks no one’s looking? Dad-offive Jason Manford is the ‘good with kids’ host, who steers them through various challenges to see how they will react.

If their parents can correctly guess what their child will do in a given situation, they win a point. The family with the most points gets the chance to win prizes.

With the children observed in a school classroom and given moral tasks by a teacher, this is very much like The Secret Life Of 5 Year Olds. We even get some chat about child development psychology. It’s as if Jason has got lost and found himself on a science documentary.

But then we’re back in the studio and the parents are competing to see if little Junior or Amelia really will take some party bag toys that don’t belong to them.

There are some funny moments as when little Genethlios is asked what Brexit is and answers: “It’s breakfast that you sit on.”

Best definition I’ve heard so far. And there’s genuine tension as Ruby the class robot gently tries to persuade the children to do something wrong while the teacher’s not looking.

Just a shame this isn’t in a weekend teatime slot – it’s a show for the kids to enjoy too!
