Little spot of bother won’t derail season

BOSS MURTY PUTS HIBS DEFEAT BEHIND HIM

- BY GAVIN BERRY

GRAEME MURTY has spent four months trying to get Rangers on track after Pedro Caixinha’s disastrous spell.

And the Light Blues boss isn’t about to allow 10 seconds to undo all his good work after blaming four mistakes in that short period for Saturday’s defeat to Hibs.

Murty held a post-mortem into the 2-1 loss and pointed to rash decisions that led to the Edinburgh side’s winner after Gers got back into the game.

He reckons his players were caught up in a rocking atmosphere after Sean Goss had cancelled out John Mcginn’s opener but conceded from the spot just a couple of minutes later.

James Tavernier gave away the penalty but Murty knows errors were made before that, including Josh Windass who charged up the park and Greg Docherty who was caught out of position.

But he refused to hammer his players as he challenged them to bounce back when they face Partick tonight. He said: “I told the players I’m not going to throw away all the positive strides we’ve made because we’ve had a negative 10 seconds. That led to us all feeling bad on Saturday and when we came into work on Monday.

“We have to put that behind us and make sure we have a positive feeling after this game.

“We have got a positive environment and we’re trying to implement a positive culture so we move away from this fragility of one game being the best thing since sliced bread and one game being the worst thing that’s ever happened to us.

“It hurts, don’t get me wrong. I hate to lose anything but let’s get a bit of reality about it.”

Kenny Miller returns to the Rangers squad for their trip to Firhill following a hamstring injury.
