GREAT EIGHT TAKES CAR BACK TO OWLS
Swansea 8 Notts Cty 1 BY NEIL MCLEMAN
CARLOS CARVALHAL will make a quick return to Sheffield Wednesday in the fifth round as Swansea recorded their biggest-ever FA Cup victory.
On-loan Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham had not scored since earning his first England caps in November.
And the new Swansea boss urged the recalled 20-year-old to copy the workrate of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo .
Abraham responded by scoring twice – and also set up Nathan Dyer for his first two goals since Leicester’s title-winning season.
Carvalhal now faces the club which sacked him on Christmas Eve and was handed a Premier League job four days later.
Abraham, who has not started in the Premier League this year, slotted home Luciano Narsingh’s cross after 18 minutes then two minutes later fed a fine ball through for Dyer to score.
Dyer scored the Swans’ third on the half-hour with a crisp first-time finish.
Kevin Nolan’s side briefly hit back. Keeper Adam Collin’s long kick was only cleared to the edge of the Swans box and Afghan midfielder Noor Husin curled in a fine shot.
But any revival was shortlived as Narsingh provided a third assist for Abraham to fire home in first-half injury time.
Kyle Naughton scored his first this season when Collin made a horrible mess of a cross, Wayne Routledge curled home the sixth and Tom Carroll hit the best of all into the top corner.
Substitute Daniel James made it an amazing eight.
