Charles plans private party for Harry & Meghan after wedding
THE Prince of Wales will throw a private do for newlyweds Harry and Meghan after they greet thousands of wellwishers in Windsor.
Charles, 69, aims to give them a chance to party with close family and friends at an evening reception after what looks set to be a very busy day.
Thousands are expected to line the route of their carriage procession through Windsor, Berks. When Charles married Camilla there in 2005, around 20,000 people descended on the town. But interest in the nuptials of Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, is expected to top this – and coach firms are already selling tickets to ferry people in.
Charles’s plans were among details for May 19 released by Kensington Palace today. A spokesman said: “Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle... are looking forward to being able to share their celebrations with the public.” The service, conducted by Dean of Windsor David Conner, will begin in Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel at noon. Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will officiate for their vows and the carriage procession starts at 1pm.
A spokesman for Harry and Meghan said: “They hope this short journey will provide an opportunity for more people to enjoy the atmosphere.”
There will then be a reception at St George’s Hall for guests from the congregation – with Charles’s party starting later.
