Morelos: England is my dream
ALFREDO MORELOS has broken his silence on his £10 million transfer speculation and revealed he wants to play in England.
The Colombian striker is Rangers’ top scorer this season with 16 in all competitions and has already entered the top ten Colombian goalscorers in European football at the age of only 21.
He’s been strongly linked with a move to China, with Beijing Renhe having had three mega-bids knocked back by the Ibrox club.
But the former HJK Helsinki star has made clear his ambition is to play in English football...and he hopes their top clubs have been impressed with his scoring exploits.
Morelos said: “I play in a country very close to the English Premier League and I think that many teams are watching me.
“So I am very happy with what I am doing right now.
“I have a positive mentality and if a team in England showed serious interest in me, it would be very exciting.”
And Morelos is determined to use Rangers to achieve his World Cup dream this summer in Russia with the South American country.
In an interview with Colombian radio station’s RCN Radio’s On the Move programme, the striker hopes he’s been noticed.
He said: “I am happy at Rangers and satisfied with how I am playing.
“Scottish football is very quick. You have no time on the ball, it’s very physical and the ball is in the air a lot.
“I want to put Colombia on the map in European football.”
