CHARLIE Gard’s father has slammed Rebekah Vardy after she said his tragic son never had a chance of survival.

The Wag, 35, commented on the tot, who died last July aged 11 months, on ITV’S Loose Women.

But furious Chris Gard said she was “categorically wrong”, adding: “You really don’t have a clue.”

Charlie had mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome and parents Chris and Connie Yates hoped to take him for therapy in the US. But the High Court sided with medics who wanted to end life support.

Rebekah, wed to Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, was discussing Alfie Evans on the show. The 21-monthold has a brain condition and his parents lost a fight to keep life support on to take him abroad.

When panellists compared him to Charlie, Rebekah said: “Charlie Gard was slightly different. There was really nothing they could do.”

Chris posted: “Let me tell you now Rebekah, you are categorically wrong! How dare you mention my son when you know nothing!

“I’m sick of everyone thinking we were fighting a lost cause. Unless you know the facts, keep your opinions to yourself.”

Rebekah insisted that she supported the family, adding: “I’m gutted the way I phrased my sentence has been taken this way.”

Alfie’s parents. from Liverpool, have an appeal set next month.
