able and he’s done very well for us. He’s playing here with a lot of his friends so he’s comfortable.

“And he was buzzing after scoring again on Saturday.

“There’s no airs or graces about him, he’s been very committed and has his feet on the ground.

“He’s just the same as the rest of the boys in that he’s not getting carried away.

“He’s just taking it one game at a time.”

Saturday’s match against Lurgan Town saw the same final scoreline as the last time the two sides met in the middle of January. And the game went in very much the same fashion – with no goals in the first half and Vale pulling away in the second period.

Robinson was full of praise for the defensive display of his side.

And with another home game to look forward to this coming weekend, the Villagers’ boss is keen to see a similar display when Seagoe rock up in the village.

“We played Lurgan Town a few weeks ago,” he said, “so we knew they are an impressive side who try to play the right way.

“The game pretty much followed the same pattern as the last meeting with both teams well in the match for the majority of it.

“I thought our fitness showed in the end and that’s what probably made the difference.

“It’s another three points and that’s all we are thinking about going into each game.

“It will be the same this weekend when we play Seagoe in what is another local derby.

“Games against them are always tight and I don’t expect Saturday to be any different.

“From our point of view, we will just try and keep doing what we have been.”
