Rabbiting Corden’s Pott shots at critics
THE fur flew as James Corden hopped to the defence of the new Peter Rabbit film. The star, voicing Peter, branded as “snobby” those criticising the first movie for writer Beatrix Potter’s beloved hero. Corden, 39, said he was persuaded to take the role after the Potter estate gave its approval for the film, out on Friday. But Potter biographer Matthew Dennison said: “Peter Rabbit emerges as a bully, and there really isn’t any evidence for that in the story.”
Corden said the film is about acceptance and he could not understand “anyone who is being what I’d consider snobby about such an experience”. He was at yesterday’s London premiere with Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley,
25, and Elizabeth Debicki, 27, who voice Peter’s sisters Cotton-tail and Mopsy.
