replied: “It’s possible.” The barrister referred to Harrison’s messages stating he went upstairs and “there were more flutes than July 12”.

Asked what he meant, he said: “It was a joke in relation to Paddy being upstairs with a girl and Stuart being upstairs with a girl. It was a joke about possible sexual activity.”

Mr Hedworth said: “But you said there could not have been sex.”

Harrison replied: “I wasn’t too concerned about the semantics.” The lawyer said: “I think you are very concerned about semantics.” The barrister said: “If Jackson had been standing naked and Mcilroy had been standing about naked and Olding was standing about naked and gone to the bathroom there would have been more flutes, wouldn’t there?”

Harrison told the court: “Yes there would have been in that case.”

Mr Hedworth asked him: “Is she [the complainant] a silly little girl?”

Harrison said: “I think she’s someone who regretted what she’d done.” The lawyer asked: “With who?” Harrison replied: “I’m not sure”. Mr Hedworth told him: “However good an upbringing you have had, sadly you put loyalty to your friends first.” Harrison said: “I disagree”

The barrister said: “A misplaced loyalty, where your loyalty should have been... when perhaps your initial instincts were to look after the young woman you knew had been traumatised by what had been done to her.” Harrison said it was not the case. The trial continues.
