Flights set to connect with Lake District

-

CUMBRIA is to be opened up as a handy holiday option for people from Northern Ireland, it has been revealed.

Loganair flights from Belfast City Airport to Carlisle Lake District Airport are to begin in June, priced from £39.99.

The area was last year awarded Unesco World Heritage status joining the likes of the Grand Canyon, the Taj Mahal and Machu Picchu.

Commercial director at Belfast City Airport Katy Best said: “I am delighted to welcome a new route directly connecting to the area for the first time.”

Loganair will operate eight flights a day each week and 12 at weekends from Monday 12 March.
