SHOULD I STOP LINGERIE FETISH?

-

Dear Coleen

I’m a 43-year-old straight, single man, but I to like to dress up in ladies’ lingerie. I have done this for possibly 20 years to a lesser or greater extent.

Now, however, I’ve started to feel like I should give it up, as I’m worried people I know may question my sexuality if they find out about it .

I suspect some family members already know of my lingerie fetish after picking up on certain signs over the years.

I’d love your advice on what I should do.

Coleen says

How do you know they don’t have fetishes of their own? Why give up something that gives you enjoyment and fulfilment just for other people, especially when it has absolutely no effect on their lives? If they assume you’re gay, so what? That’s down to their lack of knowledge and understanding.

I think what you should give up is worrying about it because that’s what’s causing you stress and affecting your wellbeing.

I think it always helps to connect with people who enjoy the same thing so you feel part of a community.

There are plenty of resources online. It’ll help to ease those feelings of isolation (and perhaps even shame) when you see how many other men are in your situation and have the same urges and feelings.
