COLERAINE are showing no signs of let-up in their pursuit of Crusaders at the top of the Premiership.
A Jamie Mcgonigle double and Brad Lyons effort eased the Bannmen to a 3-1 win over Ards, who were on target through Ross Clarke.
Victory keeps Coleraine – who are unbeaten in their last 20 games – two points behind the Crues with six games to play.
Boss Oran Kearney said: “It’s brilliant to be where we’re at and the boys are enjoying the ride. If someone had told us at the start of the season we’d be in this position, nobody would have believed it.
“It’s all about enjoying the journey we’re on and taking that feeling into the next game against Carrick on Friday night.”
Joe Gormley’s 26th goal of the season sealed a 1-0 win for Cliftonville at Carrick – the Belfast club’s third victory in eight days.
Elsewhere, Sean Mackle, Anto Reilly and Alan O’sullivan were on target as Warrenpoint Town beat out-of-form Ballymena – who had led through a Johnny Mcmurray header – 3-1 at the Showgrounds.
New Ballinamallard United boss Harry Mcconkey picked up a valuable point in a 0-0 draw with Glenavon at Mourneview Park.
He said: “It was a big challenge coming here and it wasn’t pretty, but we were organised and made it difficult for Glenavon. Our discipline and commitment were excellent.”
