Prison for M1 crash drivers

TWO lorry drivers who caused a crash on the M1 that killed eight people were jailed yesterday.

Ryszard Masierak, 31, was twice the legal limit when he stopped in the slow lane last August.

The Polish national, from Evesham, Worcs, was sentenced to 14 years’ jail.

David Wagstaff, 54, from Stoke, was chatting on his hands-free phone and drove into a stopped minibus. At Aylesbury crown court he was given a 40-month prison term.
