There’s a lot of love for Ant Mcpartlin this week:

Fiona, I feel sorry for Ant. I hope everyone leaves him alone to overcome his problems now. Sometimes when he’s on TV you can see in his eyes that he’s troubled. Being well-known and well-off doesn’t necessarily lead to happiness.

Fiona, my brother’s in rehab. He appears outwardly confident, is always smiling, a typical people-pleaser. But he doesn’t really rate himself. I hope Ant manages to find inner peace.

Debbie, via email

Fiona, why do you describe actresses as actors? You described actress Claire Foy as an actor and in November you described actress Sarah Lancashire as an actor. Why?

David Dodd, Gateshead

FP: Because, David, we don’t call female teachers teachresses, nor doctors doctresses, nor columnists columnesses. An actor acts, no matter what their sex.
