LEW BEST BELIEVE IN BRONCOS

- BY GARETH WALKER

DANNY WARD says Lewis Bienek’s move to Hull FC has made him even more determined to get London Broncos back into Super League – so they can hold onto their local stars.

The giant prop, 19, became the latest capital asset to move north when he penned a three-and-ahalf-year deal with the Black and Whites.

He will spend the rest of this season on loan at the Broncos, but coach Ward admits he is frustrated by the club’s best young players being picked off by top-flight clubs – and knows there is only one way to stop it. He said: “I’m buzzing for Lewis, and it’s a credit to our system.

“It’s quality for him to get a chance at a massive club like Hull, and I couldn’t be more pleased for him and his family.

“But it’s a big kick in the nuts for the club to lose these players. We get them up to a certain standard – Super League standard – but we can’t offer them Super League rugby league.

“It does make me more determined to get back there. We will get there eventually and hopefully then we can be a club that is able to keep hold of these London lads.”
