RANT PAIR OUT THE GERS DOOR

- BY GARY RALSTON

RANGERS have laid down the law and told players they will never disrespect the club again.

Kenny Miller’s Ibrox career is over and skipper Lee Wallace is “highly unlikely” to play for the club again after their tirade at Graeme Murty.

The former Scotland players have been suspended for their rant at the stand-in boss (inset) following the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic on Sunday.

Miller, 38, and Wallace, 30, were summoned to Ibrox yesterday morning to face the music with managing director Stewart Robertson.

Now Rangers have made it clear dissent in the ranks will not be tolerated.

Miller’s contract, which expires at the end of the season, is set to be paid up in the coming days and Wallace, who has 12 months to run on his deal, is expected to be made available for transfer in the summer.

The Ibrox board are livid at the lack of respect shown to Murty after the 4-0 defeat and claim events in the aftermath of the Old Firm humbling were “the straw that broke the camel’s back”.

Rangers directors are particularly incensed at the behaviour of club captain Wallace, one of their highest earners.

The pair were among the first to arrive in the dressing room after the game and turned on Murty in front of stunned team-mates, letting loose with a savage verbal onslaught that slaughtered his matchday preparation.

A Rangers source said: “For too long certain individuals have been a disruptive influence at the training centre and Ibrox dressing room.

“Events of Sunday will not be tolerated again. The club is bigger than any individual – and any individual’s agenda.

“This is about Rangers, not about them. It’s a line in the sand. No more.”
