PERU Two drugs mule Michaella Mccollum has given birth to twins, it has been revealed.
She announced the news with a video of her tiny babies snuggling close to her on Instagram.
Michaella revealed they were born a week ago, on May 8.
She wrote: “My little darlings, one week old today.”
However, the new mum did not disclose the gender of her babies.
Michaella, 24, announced her pregnancy in January but did not reveal she was expecting twins.
Friends and family offered her their congratulations, with one writing: “Didn’t know you were having twins, how amazing, congratulations hun.”
Another posted: “Congrats, they’re gorgeous.”
Michaella, from Dugannon in Co Tyrone, was arrested in Peru in 2013 alongside Scottish pal Melissa Reid over drug smuggling.
The pair were caught trying to bring £1.5million worth of cocaine into Spain and were jailed for more than six years. But they were released early in 2016.
Mccollum and Reid had initially claimed they were forced at gunpoint to smuggle the drugs for a gang they had met in Ibiza. However, they later admitted they had agreed to bring 24lb of the Class A drug hidden in food packets in their luggage.
In an interview after her release, Michaella said: “I could have potentially killed a lot of people, not directly but I could have caused a lot of harm to people.
“I don’t think that guilt is ever going to go away because how could I forgive myself for doing that?
“If the drugs had of got back I probably would have had a lot of blood on my hands.
“The amount of families that would have ruined... I did that, I caused destruction to society and who am I to be able to do that?
“I made a decision in a moment of madness.
“I’m not a bad person. I want to demonstrate I’m a good person.”
