21-BUN SALUTE

The UK’S most prolific mum is delighted to be expecting another baby

- BY STEPHEN WHITE

SUPERMUM Sue Radford smiles as if to say he really is my last as she cuddles little Archie...her 20th baby.

But just eight months after he was born last September, Sue has announced she is expecting tot number 21.

The coming addition to Sue’s brood, Britain’s largest family, will be a girl.

Sue, 42, husband Noel, 46, and their ever-growing tribe are delighted.

Surrounded by their children, they fired confetti cannons with pink paper streamers covering each other, in joy at the news of yet another sister.

The couple put an image of the baby scan on Instagram and wrote: “We can’t wait to welcome you into the family precious little one..#so blessed.”

A video shows the family revealing the sex of their next baby as they arrive home from the hospital.

Sue said: “I honestly can’t believe it. Normally I have an inkling of what the gender is going to be. I honestly thought it was going to be boy. We’re in shock.”

After she gave birth to her 11th son Archie after just an hour’s labour, Sue said she was happy to stop on a “nice even number”. The couple met when Sue was seven years old and could never have dreamt what the future held.

Their first child, Chris, was born when Sue was 14. He was to prove the first of a very, very long line.

They decided to keep Chris as they were both given up for adoption at birth.

After moving into their first home together they got married. Shortly afterwards they welcomed their second child, Sophie, when Sue was 17.

Their latest arrival will join Chris, Sophie, Chloe, Jack, Daniel, Luke, Millie, Katie, James, Ellie, Aimee, Josh, Max, Tillie, Oscar, Casper, Hallie, Phoebe, and Archie. One child, Alfie, was stillborn.

The couple receive £170 per week in Child Benefit and survive on Noel’s just under £50,000 salary from a local bakery.

They spend around £300 a week on food and plan their batch-cook to make sure it feeds everyone.

The family live in a large £240,000 Victorian house, a former care home, in Morecambe, Lancs.

They bought the property 11 years ago and they pride themselves on having no credit cards or finance agreements. They also holiday abroad every year.
