Millionaires’ Row murder

Horror as knifed man dies in road

- BY AMY-CLARE MARTIN

NEIGHBOURS in a “Millionaires’ Row” street followed a 40ft trail of blood to find a dying man.

Householders battled in vain to save the stabbing victim, who collapsed in exclusive Kensington, West London.

Casualty actress Mika Simmons tweeted: “A young black man has just been stabbed to death outside my flat.”

The victim, a 42-year-old man, died at the scene in Cathcart Road, where actor Hugh Grant once lived. It was the capital’s 69th murder this year.

Ms Simmons, 42, called on London mayor Sadiq Khan and PM Theresa May to act, adding: “When are you going to help these children?”

Police denied early reports that the victim was a delivery driver involved in a road-rage incident.

One local ended up covered in blood as he tried to stem the bleeding from multiple wounds, using his belt as a tourniquet on a cut to the victim’s leg.

He said: “We were trying to keep him awake and keep him talking,

– but he was in and out of consciousness.”

Witness Khaled Ahmed, 26, said: “First I saw blood on the floor and followed the blood all the way around a corner. There were armed police and an ambulance.”

The upmarket road was cordoned off yesterday as forensic crews worked. A black car was taken away on a truck. No arrests have been made in the murder probe which is still at an “early stage”, said Scotland Yard.
