Principal’s joy at NSPCC’S school award
A PRIMARY school has just been named the NSPCC’S school of the year.
St Columb’s Cullion in Desertmartin, Co Derry, has just 90 pupils.
Last week its representatives flew to London to receive the award from The Countess Of Wessex.
The charity’s Lisa Norris said: “The school kindly supported NSPCC with fundraising and it was with pleasure we attended their presentation assembly last month, where a number of children shared their thoughts and reflections on their experience of NSPCC in their school.”
Principal Patricia Carr said: “For a small rural school like ours to have been recognized not only regionally, but nationally is nothing short of incredible.
“We could squeal from the top of Slieve Gallion at how proud we are.”
