Now, Colombia’s supremely gifted playmaker – he won the Golden Boot in 2014’s World Cup – looks to show he belongs on the big stage once more.

A spell at Real Madrid didn’t work out, but 26-year-old Rodriguez impressed on loan at Bayern Munich last season.

Integral in terms of both creating and taking chances, he can be the dominant player in Group H.
