AN unusual sea toad fish with legs has been found off the coast of Ireland.

A Kerry trawler caught the creature, which evolved feet so it can stroll across the ocean bed, in recent days on the Porcupine Bank.

The pink fish, which is usually founded in the depths of the ocean in the Gulf of Mexico, was caught by Cu Na Mara. Marine biologist Kevin Flannery who identified it, said it is an extremely rare deep-water fish.

He added: “It is fantastic looking. It’s been landed in Dingle twice, but we’ve had two or three around the coast in other places.”

Mr Flannery said the fish will be sent to the Natural History Museum. A COUNCILLOR has hit out at drug dealers after two women were busted in the middle of a heroin deal.

The incident took place on Friday on King Street at the back of Castlecourt in Belfast city centre.

Tactical support officers were able to arrest one of the women involved, seizing two heroin wraps and cash.

A subsequent house search in the New Lodge area of North Belfast turned up more drugs.

A PSNI spokesman said: “Our colleagues in TSG spotted a heroin deal in King Street.

“They were able to scoop one of the females involved and seize both wraps and cash.

“They went to her house and found more drugs. She has been bailed while we investigate further.”

Belfast SDLP councillor Paul Mccusker said those selling drugs on the streets appear to have no fear amid “an increase in heroin, herbal and prescription medication being sold openly”.

He added: “Drugs on our streets are a serious issue.

“This should be a major focus for the PSNI. They need to have more visibility and all agencies dealing with what is a blight in communities and on streets across the city.

“There is also responsibility on the PPS to seriously deal with those arrested selling drugs, as quite often many are released on bail.

“Until we have stricter sentencing, more visibility and deterrents this problem will only continue to escalate.

“We want to hear more stories of the PSNI apprehending those who feel it’s OK to sell drugs and ruin lives.”
